Blackmoor Bar and Kitchen

We went to the Blackmoor on St. Patrick’s Day, probably one of the busiest nights of their year. They had live music and a special St. Patrick’s Day menu. We were with a group of nine, and they did not have our reservation, although we had made it several days before. They did accommodate us and we had a fantastic booth. The food was great, and service was fine, except that they were out of several things. When all of our food came out, they realized that they were out of my husband’s entrée, but had not told him. We still had plenty to eat and everything was delicious.

Easy to get table, smiling staff, great location, clean and cute. Lobster bisque very good, I'd get again. French fries were fantastic. Salmon BLT good. "Poutine" on the brunch menu was a misnomer. The fries underneath were great and scrambled eggs cooked soft, but chef completely forgot salt. The cheese "curds" were something else shredded, and forgot the gravy entirely. Would not get again. Price appropriate for the location.

The male bartender is very friendly and provides great and knowledgeable service no matter what you might like. There's an extensive worldly draft list, with beers in different styles of glasses, adding a fun touch. Cocktails are also available. Food is delicious and nice quality, yet a little on the higher price point - but my salmon sandwich was worth it. Came with my running group on a Wednesday night for probably over the 10th time and the bartender always takes very good care of us.

Struggle! The service was a struggle. We were 9 people, ordered drinks and appetizers + dinned. They were not busy at all, maybe 5morw tables top. In 45 min it was still an empty table, no water was served. We asked for water at the bar - six bottles of water were served to us. Then came the drinks and dinner, no one knows what happened to the appetizers?? Absolute chaos. The pulled pork was not pulled just a big chunk was served, slightly dry. The brisket was good, the ribs were good. Definitely some BBQ sauce on the side could be helpful. The greens as a side dish were awful, the coleslaw was a very small portion. The whiskey burger was good, the fried onions were fried probably yesterday, very soggy. The fish and chips dish was good, fish coating on a greasy side but tasty. The desserts were great. The smoke meets were my favorite, but the service was an absolute struggle. Very minimal communication with the server. I hope they are just still recovering from COVID and can pick up quickly, because the food was good. Come back next evening - because of the smoked ribs. The ribs were dry, that everything. The pretzel - tasteless. The whiskey burger was good, the fried onions were fried probably yesterday, very soggy. The fish and chips dish was good, fish coating on a greasy side but tasty. The lobster roll was the star of the evening. The desserts were great. Service slightly better, but still struggle.

I ate out here twice. First time I had the lobster roll and the clam chowder. The lobster roll was nice but the clam chowder was really good. The second time I ate the chicken tenders and the pork belly. The check was crispy and nice but the pork belly was horrendous. It was so tough and dry I couldn't even take one bite. Honestly felt like I was eating some jerky. For the price they charge here, I expected a lot more. Only thing I could recommend at this place is their clam chowder.
